With in a week of living in Rotterdam, I developed a nasty allergy attack. Full sinuses, constant drainage, itchy throat, all that jazz. That's not uncommon for me, when staying in a new place. My immune system just needs time to adjust.
The problem here is that the two most common treatments I take for allergies are Benadryl and Sudaphed, both of which are not available here.
Pot is, but allergy meds aren't.

Cod liver oil - optimize your Omega 3 intake to allow your body to balance your immine system.
10 grams of vitamin C per day - taken 1 gram hourly. Stress depletes vitamin C and the "RDA" is way too low, reflecting the understanding of C about 100 years ago.
Try a neti pot, I use the irrigation kit and it has really helped a lot -- and I have horrible allergies. Allergens get trapped in your sinuses and when that happens, your body continues to send histamines to the site so you keep sneezing. The kit helps flush out the allergens, so you stop sneezing. It takes a little bit of getting used to doing, but it's one of the best ways I've found to manage my allergies and I don't have to use any medications that make me drowsy or give me heart palpitations.
