Space Poodle and Other Updates

Charles and I officially apologize for neglecting this blog. Both of us have been pretty busy lately, but we have a few updates to post.

Berlin's Paw: It is totally healed. He spent almost 12 weeks in a splint and was limping for a good portion of time thereafter, but he seems to be doing well.

We recently took a few short trips (with poodles) to Portland and San Francisco...

Portland: This is really a beautiful city. The public transport system is a lot better than Seattle's and the restaurants were fabulous. We stayed at the Hotel Monaco, which is extremely trendy and also very dog friendly. Other highlights of the trip were a trip to Powell's Books and Voodoo Doughnut. I have been loving my Kindle lately, but Powell's made me appreciate the value of a good book store. Voodoo Doughnut sort of just made me feel gluttonous and bloated. Photos from our Portland trip can be seen here.

San Francisco: I took some CLE (continuing legal eduation) at the PLI Center so Charles had some time to himself; however, we did manage a few days of vacation. We ate some fantastic food (oysters, shabu shabu, and Moroccan ) and saw a Thrillpeddlers show. Remus also got a fantastic Halloween costume at Best in Show in the Castro District...

The rest of our San Francisco pics are located here. You can also check out a few pictures of Remus modeling his new costume at a little Halloween party in Seattle.

2009 Thanksgiving in Canada

Charles and I decided to spend the holiday weekend in Canada. We packed up the poodles and drove across the border to Vancouver, BC for a relaxing weekend at the Pan Pacific Hotel. The idea was to take it easy, eat good food, and relax.

We spent most of Thursday driving. The traffic in the States was terrible. However I planned ahead and already had a massage booked at Spa Utopia.

I wasn't the only one getting spoiled though. Upon checking into the hotel, the poodles were presented with this gift basket including treats, a food dish, beds, mats, and other dog amenities.

Friday was gorgeous! We took the poodles for a long walk around the sea wall and had dinner at La Crocodile. I also checked out the Miraj Hammam on South Granville which was fabulous.

The weather on Saturday was miserable, but that didn't stop us from driving out to Richmond to visit a friend. I bet you're wondering why this post has a "dutch culture" tag. It's because there is a pannekoeken house in Richmond! The place is called De Dutch. Charles and I both agreed that it lived up to its name and appreciated some good pannekoeken!

We didn't take many pictures during our trip, but the set can be found here if you are interested.
